According to Wikipedia, “A locavore is a person interested in eating food that is locally produced, not moved long distances to market.” But I don’t just try to eat local. I get obsessed with it. My heart beats faster. I get goosebumps. My palms get sweaty. I’m distracted and antsy and can’t focus until I get my fix of whatever latest “local” thing that has caught my eye!
Although I mainly obsess over local food, I also sometimes get tingly about local shops, events, and places too. Most local things I find are in and around Ottawa, but I extend my locaholism when I travel and love checking out restaurants, shops and places that make other locales unique. Local means the things that are most intrinsic to where you are at any given time.
